Task One: Social Sciences Inquiry: Citizenship

Research and find a New Zealand citizen who has been publicly recognised for being informed, responsible, critical and active (in other words, an effective and 'outstanding' citizen)
Find out some interesting facts about them. We will be focusing on writing research questions in class, so just a bit of background is needed this week. Come to class with a photo of your chosen NZ citizen, their name a few quick facts to share with the class (e.g. outstanding achievement, birth place, etc)
Try http://www.localhistories.org/famousnewzealanders.html for a list of famous New Zealanders if you are having trouble, but remember, just because they are famous doesn't mean they are informed, responsible, critical and active! COPYRIGHT Miss Taylor
