Complete the tasks assigned for you. Click here to go straight to Mathletics. There are a number of people who have still not completed last week's tasks. Please do these ASAP as you will only have to catch up later otherwise, they do not go away! If you have completed the tasks assigned to you, then you can spend atleast half an hour on Live Mathletics.
Task Two: Yearbook Class Page Report Competition (DUE THIS FRIDAY)
Each year, each class submits a piece of text, written by a student, about the year in that particular class. It is that time of the year again. Your job is to write a piece of QUALITY text about the year in Room 16.
The 'best' text will be selected to be put in the yearbook. The others will be displayed around the classroom for all to read and enjoy.
There is limited space on the actual page it will be printed so do not let your text become too long.
It should be typed and saved in 'Word' in case it is selected, so it can easily be sent through the school office.
Please note that some time will be allowed in class to work on this, due to the short time frame. But most will need to be done at home.
Please make sure you have edited it carefully and proof-read it thoroughly!
Your text is to be EMAILED through to Mrs Guy: rachel@bbi.school.nz BEFORE Friday (that's right, this Friday 30 Oct!)
Be creative - use any genre you like. Some examples are listed:
Recount
Narrative
Poem
Recipe
Quotes from students reflecting on their year
Achievements made by students
Please make sure the text reflect the learning, experiences, achievements, friendships and events that have happened in Room 16 this year.
DO NOT include things like...
future aspirations, e.g. James wants to be a fireman
nick names
most likely to be, e.g. Amina - most likely to be a politician
Please look at last year's yearbook to get some ideas (there are more previous years' yearbooks available in class to be read during SSR time)
