  • For each word, write a compound or complex sentence with the word in it (underline the word)
  • List two synonyms for each word (words that have a similar meaning - you may like to use a thesaurus for this)
See below for how to set it out..
e.g.
  • sustainability
Definition: to keep up or keep going, as an action or process
Sentence: We all have a responsibility to plan for the sustainability of our planet, by recycling, using less fuel and energy, and cutting down on wastage and unnecessary packaging
Synonyms: endure, maintain

Task Four: Inquiry - Thinking about the world your children will inherit

  1. As you watch the video below jot down ALL the things you notice that are examples of sustainable living? You should have quite long list by the end. (e.g. transport, food, personal grooming, etc).
  2. Choose 5 things from your list, and explain why they contribute towards creating a sustainable future for our world? Go into depth please to show your understanding. (e.g. He doesn't buy clothes. Instead, he gets hand me downs from his brother. This means that he is not contributing to the demand for manufacturing clothes, which meas that energy is not being used to provide him with clothing, nor are gases being emitted into the atmosphere.)
  3. What is is biggest cost per year and how much is it?
  4. Is there one thing that this man does that you could implement in your own life to work towards sustainable living?
  5. How would you implement it in your own life?
  6. How would it contribute towards a sustainable future for our planet Earth? (It does not mean nagging your parents for a pet goat!)
